The bill has been pending for 43 odd years. Hazare's fast has moved people so deeply that thousands of them, from across the nation, are taking to the streets. And what's more, on Wednesday, Sharad Pawar, infamous for corruption allegations against him, had to unwillingly resign from the Group of Ministers, under extreme public pressure.
We asked india-forums.tv readers how effective and important this move was for a corruption-free India. Here's what they had to say:

How effective and important is this move for a corruption-free India?
Siraj Biviji, 27, system analyst
I think Anna Hazare is doing the right thing by building public
pressure on the government. Corruption in India is too bad and I would personally like to support the uprising. Anna Hazare has succeeded to create the momentum which had been missing in the past for so many years. I think that the government will finally have to change their stand against this bill, if the public pressure continues to persist.

Anna Hazare has taken an ideal step to prove the power of democracy. He is a common man like us, but he has immense power to influence public opinion. The government will have to take action in favour of the Jan Lokpal Bill. It is only the third day of his fast, yet we see that things are working in favour of Hazare's cause. I think this was essential to make the government take some much needed action against corruption.

I am in favour of the Jan Lokpal Bill. This Bill will help the common man beat corruption and provide grievance redressal systems. What's more, if implemented well, it will give effective protection to whistle blowers. I am with Anna Hazare 100%. I hope that he succeeds and accomplishes his mission. Also, I pray that he has the strength to carry on with this fight against corruption in our country.

If more people join the agitation, I think the government will have to accept the bill. I don't think that it is completely safe to allow unlimited powers to be placed in the hands of the common men. Hence, if the government and Anna Hazare could agree on a bill where limited power is assigned to people, it will be very helpful for the nation. Anna Hazare, however, is known for his successful campaigns and I think this one will be successful as well.

Anna Hazare follows the Gandhian principle. He won't give up his fast unless his demands are met with. He understands the gravity of corruption in India and has made a proposal which will definitely benefit the people. The government may however manage to ease out the furry and may take an action much later than intended. We can only hope that politicians may stop being corrupt and may encourage amendments which will benefit Indians at large.
