Fun-filled Rajneeti's filmi do in Mumbai

Postby huma on Mon May 10, 2010 5:53 pm

Cheers, jeers, drama, debates and discussions — all formed the mainstay of Rajneeti’s filmi do on Saturday evening at JW Marriott.

Steered by Prakash Jha, the do was attended by Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal and Manoj Bajpayee, apart from Ronnie Screwvala. Jha, whilst introducing his film and showcasing certain snippets of the same, minced no words as he gave some thought-provoking answers to queries about the film’s plot, the similarity between Katrina’s character with that of a senior political persona and his own plans to continue in politics — the last one which he answered with a vehement, “No! I’m done with standing for elections!”

Ranbir (who set hearts aflutter as he bent down to touch Jha’s feet and later, waved out to everybody in the audience) talked about how his understanding about politics, also making him realise that one has to do something proactive for the country’s betterment rather than keep playing the blame game. Manoj seemed in a philosophical mood as he spoke about his kind of politics, whereas Arjun was in a jocular mood, as he kept the mirth going with his witty repartees and one-liners.

The belle of the ball, Katrina (looking super-hot in a l’il black number) was all praises for her senior co-artistes’
histrionics, even as she took questions about her Hindi diction, chin up!

REVELATIONS! Ranbir revealed impishly, “I owe it to Nana Sir for teaching me to play the tabla during the shoot of this film. Not just that, he also taught me a novel way of peeling a banana!” The actor also revealed that Arjun played cricket-coach to Katrina, teaching her all about off-stumps and mid-wickets!
