Gautham Menon to remake VTV in Kannada

It seems ace director Gautham Menon wants to make his romantic movie Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) in every possible language. The director, who has announced his Hindi version of VTV, is gearing up to to remake the film in Kannada.

Gautham Menon has recently approached Kannada actor Puneet Rajkumar to play the lead role in Kannada version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The actor without a second thought has agreed to act in the film. Sources say that the filmmaker will be in Bengaluru again on March 28 to finalize the project.

Sources add that the project may take-off in November, as both the director and actor are busy with their respective projects. It is said that the Gautham Menon would retain the original tunes for the film, which was composed by Oscar Award winner AR Rahman.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa is a 2010 Tamil blockbuster movie, which starred Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. The movie is an intriguing love tale of a Hindu and an orthodox Syrian Christian Malayali girl. The movie was simultaneously made in Telugu, as Ye Maaya Chesave with Naga Chaitanya and Samantha in the leads.

However, the Hindi version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa will start its shooting from April first week. It will feature Prateik Babbar and British model-actress Amy Jackson.
