How to Keep Your Man Stylish in 2011

Postby aryan on Wed Jan 12, 2011 11:11 am

Think your man needs a wardrobe upgrade in the New Year? The Samurai jacket is the new tuxedo, shirts with pocket details are trendy and classic suits will never go out of style. So go all out and dress him stylish this year!

Classic collection
A man in a three-piece suit sets every girl's heart racing. And nothing spells 'dapper' more than a sophisticated suit. Ravi Bajaj, one of the highest selling menswear designers, says, "Classic suits will always remain 'new' just as the three-piece and double-breasted suit always looks fab." Check out how Abhay Deol gives a modern and young twist to a suit with a hat and slim tie.

Wrap him in a jacket
Well-tailored jackets offer the streamlined, sharp masculine look. Fashion designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed feels that the Samurai jacket is fashion's current for formal wear. Check out Salman Khan looking uber stylish in his jacket.

For a more casual look, Narendra suggests wrapped jackets in linen. Linen jackets will work perfectly for the day or a semi-casual night out.

Keep him trendy
Bajaj shares that some of the must-have men's accessories in 2011 are, "Ties and bow-ties, jute shoes, patent leather shoes and pocket squares." Saif Ali Khan must be your style reference to know how to rock the bow-tie and pocket square.

Narendra feels that sports-inspired high-top canvas shoes are perfect to team with jeans and a t-shirt. "Although you'll see a lot of men with big bags, if you feel uncomfortable carrying one, opt for a small pouch or trendy laptop bag," he adds.

His colours are...
A man will never get tired of black and white. And he'll be glad to know that white is big in 2011. Bajaj says, "Watch out for neon colours and a lot of white. Shirts with pocket details are also very trendy this year."

Narendra adds, "Pink and colours from the family of pink like mauve and purple will also do the rounds this year."

Elegant in ethnic
How elegant does a man look in a sherwani! Narendra Kumar reveals that shorter sherwanis are trendy in 2011. Make note of Shah Rukh Khan's ethnic-meets-contemporary style for some inspiration.

Ravi Bajaj's advice is, "Men should go for what they like and looks good on them, instead of his family's choice." Sometimes your man might need your help to decide what looks good on him even when he is an impatient shopper. Use your charm and patience to guide him.
