
Talking to the sources, he cleared setting his eyes trained on Australia's tour of the West Indies slated for March-April and the five-match bilateral ODI series in England in June-July. Hussey also said that he was looking forward to helping Australia win their maiden World T20 crown in Sri Lanka.
For the moment, the 36-year-old is not willing to look beyond the final Test against India, but will weigh his options after the series is over. "The T20 World Cup is a carrot dangling there. I'd love to be part of the World Cup again," said Hussey.
The left-handed middle-order batsman said he recognizes the need for blooding youngsters, but feels younger players need to earn their stripes like he did. He said, "It took me over 10 years of first-class cricket just to get one game for Australia so I certainly don't feel the responsibility to pass the baton on. I still feel I've got a big role to play in the team with my experience to help some of the younger members of the team”.
Well, like his Indian counterparts, Hussey too have cleared that retirement is not his plan of action!
