Sanjay's marriage with Karisma Kapoor, Bollywood is saying, is on the rocks; and Priya's relationship with hotelier Vikram Chatwal isn't going so well either. The two friends have become thicker since then and, Delhi tongues wag, have been spotted spending time with each other.
Sanjay, however, maintains that all is well between Karisma and him. And the former actress' father, Randhir Kapoor, said at a press conference that his daughter would not divorce her husband. But Lolo's close friends are concerned for her. While Priya's friends swear that even they would be the last to know if she was developing feelings for Sanjay. She had maintained a dignified silence when all of them knew that her marriage to Vikram was going through a rough patch earlier.
Meanwhile, we are dismayed to hear that Mumbai has shifted speculation from the broken marriage between Arun Nayar and Liz Hurley to that of his parents, father Vinod and step-mom Joanne.
Apparently all is not well here, long-standing differences have come to the fore, and the outcome appears grim. Friends of the Nayars will talk loosely, of course, but if true... and coming on the heels of poor Arun's pre-Christmas disappointment... this news is as sad as it is shocking. The senior Nayars are behaving in a mature manner and we wish Mumbai society would be a little more sensitive towards them. Good luck and God bless, is all we can say. Meanwhile, Arun has gone back... to wherever and whoever. He came, he saw, and he left... after partying hard, going to the races, and giving Mumbai the impression that life could not be better. What was he supposed to do? If he had moped around the place, people would snigger behind his back; when he showed a happy face, they still gossiped. But, it appears there was no patch-up between him and father Vinod. Perhaps Arun did not want to bother them with his problems when he saw they had their own.
And, finally, there's khabar that dusky model Lisa Haydon is besotted by Karan Bhojwani (society swan and philanthropist Devika and Suresh Bhojwani's young and eligible son). The two have apparently been dating for the last couple of months but things appear to have taken a serious turn recently. Lisa (who debuted in Bollywood with Aisha) has been talking about Karan to her friends. And the young couple party together and have become quite the talk of town. However, their first romantic New Year plan was dashed due to a sudden family crisis that Karan had to tackle. The lovebirds were in Goa at the Sunburn Fest last weekend and planned to ring in the New Year there. But Karan's family had to rush back to Mumbai and tend to Usha Khanna (Karan's maternal grandmother) who was hospitalised due to a relapse of malaria. Usha's better now and discharged. All's well that ends well...
