The Lawsuit
Recently, a class-action lawsuit was filed against the Miley Cyrus fan club, MileyWorld. The suit alleges that fans were promised "access" concert tickets to Hannah's next show as a benefit of paying the $29.95 membership fee for joining the club. Representatives for the disappointed Miley fans whom did not get their hands on Hannah concert tickets claim that both Media Marketing and Smiley Miley Inc. knew that there were not going to be enough tickets to go around. Lawyers stated that this was a deceptive practice to get fans to pay the $29.95 membership fee.
Miley's camp struck back, stating that "over 70,000 MileyWorld members got tickets to the fan club." Representatives for Cyrus also commented that the website "…does not guarantee every member a concert ticket." A fact that is noted on the MileyWorld website.
The final issue in the law suit involves ticket scalping. Some parents reportedly paid upwards of $2,000 for tickets to the sold-out Best of Both Worlds tour. These exorbitant prices have led the Attorney General of Arkansas to open an investigation as to whether any ticket scalping laws are being violated.
