Actress Kalki and Director Anurag Kashyap got married in a traditional South Indian style wedding under a mango tree. The wedding took place in Kalhatty on the outskirts of Ooty, where Kalki’s French parents have been living since 30 years. Kalki wore a white and red kanjeevaram silk saree, and Anurag wore a white dhoti. The guest list was a modest 40 and included Anurag’s daughter and his brother Abhinav (director of blockbuster Dabbang), Kalki’s brother and sister-in-law, and Anurag’s close friends, Vikramaditya Motwane and his wife Ishita, Rahul Bhat, Piyush Mishra and Shahnaab Alam. It was a fun, DIY wedding, with simple, elegant set-ups. The traditional vegetarian meal was prepared at home, under the supervision of Kalki’s mother and was served on banana leaves. The groom and his friends helped with the set-ups for the mandaps and the décor. And Kalki did her own make-up.
In the evening, there was a party, where the groom and all his guests enjoyed the non-vegetarian fare since they had eaten pure vegetarian food for two days. Kalki wore a colorful mango, fuchsia and orange lehenga pink with lots of gota work, designed by Mumbai designer Laila Motwane accessorized with simple yellow gold jewellery.
Kalki and Kashyap are back in Mumbai and they’ve put their honeymoon plans on hold to accommodate Anurag’s next film ‘Shaitan’, which also stars Kalki, due to release on June 10.
