When Simbu spent some time chatting with actress Sneha Ullal during the launch of her Tamil-Telugu film Ennai Theriyuma? last year, rumour mills worked overtime churning out reports that he might soon cast her in one of his films.

And now, looks like the speculation has come true. After all, the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan look-alike has landed a plum role in Vaanam. She will be playing Simbu’s heroine in the film.

Vaanam, the remake of the Telugu hit Vedam, starring Allu Arjun, Manoj Manchu and Anushka, will now have Anushka and Bharath in the lead, along with Simbu and Sneha.

Initially, Manoj was supposed to reprise his role in the Tamil version, but then, Bharath replaced him at the last minute. In the film, Anushka plays a commercial sex worker while Sneha plays Simbu’s romantic interest.

A source close to Sneha Ullal says, “Sneha was keen on working with Simbu. She has seen his films and even met him during the launch of Ennai Theriyuma? She is super-excited about playing Simbu’s heroine in Vaanam.”
