Manasare Movie Review

Postby nahia on Wed Sep 30, 2009 5:01 am

Cast: Diganth, Aindrita Ray, Raju Thalikote, Pavankumar, Pushpak Rockline, Ashok Rao, Balaji, Achyuth Kumar
Direction: Yogaraj Bhat
Production: Rockline Venkatesh
Music: Mano Murthy

Yogaraj Bhat of ‘Mungaru Male’ and ‘Galipaata’ gives a disappointing film from ‘Manasare’ that goes cool in the first half and in the second half without proper script and screenplay loses track. Bhat sees Ganesh the golden star in Diganth and even that exercise is futile. The improper story line and weak screenplay are the major flaws of this ‘Manasare’. The dialogues here and there are funny. There is brilliant camera work and Mano Murthy fails to generate good results from his music. Over all the preparation is not up to the mark.

Manohar (Diganth) is a careless and happy go lucky youth. He is good for nothing. In a freak incident in the pitch dark Manohar is picked to the mental hospital Kamanibillu instead of Mahender the actual patient who go missing. The sedatives and treatment makes Manohar very dull and an incident in the hospital at the time of arrival of his uncle convinces that Manohar has some ailment. With no other go in the mental hospital Manohar falls to the charm of Devaki (Aindrita Ray). He decides to stay in the hospital for some time and elopes with Devaki in the hospital vehicle. He loses route and the vehicle is fuel less. He is left stranded. In this short stay Devaki who has aversion to male gender likes Manohar for his good attitudes. Manohar and Devaki come back to the Kamanabillu for a happy ending.

Diganth does not suit this role and he has not been able to shoulder the film. Aindrita Ray looks very bubbly in the song sequences. Raju Thalikote dialogues in the North Karnataka diction is plus point because it evokes laughter. Balaji, Ashok Rao, Achyuth are apt in their roles.

Only one song Ello Maleyagidhe…..strikes the mind even after you come out from the theatre. Mano Murthy has become monotonous like the lyricist Jayanth Kaikini who is always behind rain in his lyrics. As a matter of fact director Yogaraj Bhat’s favorite ‘Rain’ in his previous two films is missing here in ‘Manasare’.
