Sanagam is a story of a girl named Ganga as she struggles through life - going from her small town to the big city in search of her love.
For a small town girl, Ganga had big dreams. Deena Nath (ganga’s father) wanted Ganga to pursue college in Mumbai, and become free-spirited and an independently thinking person. But destiny had something else in store.
The bad guy in Sangam named Madan wanted to forcefully marry Ganga but Ganga’s love interest is Sunny. Her family was adamant that Madan is not the right guy. This led to Madan going all extremes in order to get ganga. He pushed her dad off a bridge and he died. Ganga was extremely heartbroken to have lost the only strength in her life, her dad. Ganga retaliated but she also fell as a victim of Madan’s evil action. Ganga was too pushed in the water to be left drowning. Hearing about Ganga’s death, her mother suffered a heart attack which she eventually succumbed to. Everyone believed that Ganga is dead and so did Sunny.
However, the twist in Sangam is that Ganga is very much alive. She returns as Janvi. She is still to reveal her true identity. Sunny has the slightest hint that Janvi might be Ganga. Sangam also focuses on the character Shekhar(sunny’s elder brother). Shekhar unfortunately lost his wife during their daughter’s birth, gudiya. Everyone in his family wants Shekhar to remarry. Kaveri (Shekhar’s sister) made it clear that she will not marry until Shekhar gets married. In the meanwhile, gudiya starts opening up and becomes close to Janvi (ganga).
In the office, Shekhar employs a new manager named Bindu. He fires his younger brother Balbir for not being committed to work. Who will Shekhar marry? Janvi or Bindu?
