When you are on a break, you get to see other people's work and what’s happening in the industry. You even get to read different scripts and look back at your career. Most importantly, you can give your whole time to what you are doing at that time. I was not on a break when I signed NOKJ after I finished Dil Bole Hadippa. For some reasons, the film got delayed, and I was only working on this project.

More confident
It has been more than 13 years since I have been in this industry, and I have become more and more confident with my work and the days I have passed in this industry. And for an actor, it is very important to be confident, as it helps you to build up a character.
Best thing about the industry
It’s everything to me because I earn my livelihood from this industry. The people, the glamour, the fame is everything I have loved. Every day, you get to learn something new. Like Vidya Balan is junior to me as an actress, but at the same time, she is a brilliant actress and performs well in front of camera. While shooting with her, I have learned a lot.
Worst thing
Interference in personal life. Without knowing anything, people spread rumours about you.
Lessons learnt?
From the time I began till now, the only change in me has been that I have become more confident. I was very naïve and innocent before. I have become smarter now because you have to be smart to be in this industry.
Good friends and mentors
Everyone is my friend. That is because whichever unit I have worked with, I have gelled with them nicely. Cameramen or make-up men, everyone has become my friend. In terms of stars, I am very close to the three Khans. In my initial days, Aamir and Shah Rukh remained my mentors, and I have learnt a lot from them about acting.
