The 1994 hit Main Khiladi Tu Anari is still remembered for the palpable chemistry between its lead actors Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar. Therefore it was easy to believe the media buzz about plans of a sequel to the film. However, Saif confirmed to a newspaper that there aren’t any remake or sequel plans as of now.
While Saif (40) joked about whether Akshay (43) would reprise his role of a cop considering he didn’t have much to do in the film, he clarified,’ I had jokingly asked Akki about the film and he had told me he would like to play the hero this time around. There are no plans to make the sequel though.”

Saif traced the root of this speculation back to a discussion between him and a journalist about sequels. He added,’ When I was asked if I would make a sequel to Main Khiladi Tu Anari, I said, ‘Why not’, we have been open to making it, but I don’t think there is any such plan, and I can tell you that it won’t happen.’

Saif has a string of releases coming up starting with his home production Agent Vinod, Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan and Homi Adajania’s film Cocktail (Working Title).
