The serial is based on a girl name Simran, who is an orphan and has been brought up by her chacha-chachi. Her chacha-chachi is everything for her and therefore, she believes that whatever they will choose for her will be the best. In the serial, she chooses to go for an arranged marriage, and gets married to Ruhan, who belongs to one of the wealthiest families in the city. However on the day of her marriage Ruhan reveals that he loves someone else, and their wedding is a mistake. This brings Simran at a crossroad where she can't go back to her house because her chacha is heart patient, nor she can move with what Ruhan said.

But unlike any ordinary traditional Indian girl, Simran decides to abide by her responsibilities as a wife, a daughter, a daughter in law of a prestigious family. She decides to fight against the shadow from her husband's past and get her husband back.

Later, as the story moves on, Ruhan and Simran goes to Goa for their (pretense) honeymoon. There Ruhan finds out that the girl he loves is married to someone else. Now, he tries to change and starts having feelings for Simran. But Simran is thinking Ruhan wants to divorce her. The dilemma is that what will happen to their relationship? This story is about Simran's struggle to get love from her husband and her fate.

Story Change---One day, while in a great stress, Ruhan gets into a major accident in which he looses his memory. But fortunately, he is saved by a girl name Sargam (new protagonist), who takes him to her home, and now Ruhan will be living with this new family. Besides that Sargam is getting married to Vedant, but after meeting this stranger (Ruhan), she starts having feelings for him. Now the question remains that:::Will Sargam get marry to Ruhan or Vedant? Will Ruhan be the same after gaining his memory back/Will he forget Simran?
