Going by this recent incident, Rahul Mahajan is taking his new role as a soon-to-be bridegroom quite seriously. Why else would he insist on getting two NRI girls, who he instantly took a fancy to, to participate in his swayamvar show, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayenge? While his wish wasn’t fulfilled immediately, Rahul was pleasantly surprised when he got to know that his two favourite girls will be introduced as new participants in the show tomorrow, almost a week after the show started on February 1.

A source said, “The two girls were shortlisted by Rahul but he was extremely disappointed when the channel told him that they couldn’t let them participate in the show as they didn’t have the requisite work permit. However, the channel somehow managed to get the work permits for both the girls as they realised that Rahul couldn’t make up his mind about any of the other girls, who were announced as the final participants, when the show started earlier this week. Rahul was obviously thrilled to know that two of his favourite girls will participate in the show even though a week late. One of the girls is Devinder Sidhu, who is VJ Teejay Sidhu’s sister, while the other is Shannti Dinnoo.”

Shailaja Kejriwala, Executive Vice President for content of the channel, said, “Yes, we initially did not get the work permit as they were foreign nationals. However, when we managed to get their permits we thought of giving a surprise to Rahul.” When asked whether Rahul was disappointed that the girls could not participate in the show initially, she said, “Yes, he had shortlisted these two girls.”
