The director has chosen a script that deals with the relocation from a joint to a nuclear family. Joy, who plays a principle character in the film, essays Atolanta Mukherjee. Atolanta comes from a middle-class family in North Kolkata and the film takes off after his death. Raima, on the other hand, is Suchismita Mukherjee, a professor and wife of Atolanta. She boasts of an upper middle-class South Kolkata background. “Suchismita is a catalyst in Atolanta’s life. Even his grandfather, played by Soumitra Chatterjee, has a great influence in his life,” informs De.

Raima is excited to bag this offer. “Suchismita’s role will give me scope to showcase my acting prowess,” says Raima. The director too feels, “Raima’s face has a character. She can portray glamorous and deglam roles with confidence.”
