With a decent performance, actor Ganesh Venkatraman could grab some attention in Eenadu, amidst bigwigs like Kamal Haasan and Venkatesh.
The role of an officer in Anti-Terrorist Squad was well-designed,” says the actor, who went to a police academy in Pune to learn hand-to-hand combat and rifle shooting to get his act right.
“Director Chakri’s vast experience came in handy,” he reveals. As a Mumbaikar, who witnessed a series of terrorists attacks, he feels “instant justice is required in special cases, since callous killers deserve no mercy”.
On his career front, the Tamil-speaking actor was seen as a handsome hubby of Trisha in Akasamantha. “But Eenadu displayed my versatility,” he confesses and is also proud about doing a crossover Hyderabadi film Angrez. “The genre was interesting,” he informs.
The former Mr India Gladrags (2003) endorsed brands and walked ramp besides dabbling in theatre. “Film acting was a natural progression,” he reasons.
Despite films being his ‘passion’, he wants to do ‘selective’ Tollywood roles. “I want to pick the right ones,” he signs off. Are filmmakers’ listening?
