NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Wednesday lifted the gag order on publishing and telecasting the tapped phone conversations of former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh with top political leaders and Bollywood stars.
The court dismissed the writ petition by Amar Singh on 2006 tapes controversy.
Amar Singh may proceed against the telecom operator for illegally tapping his phone, the SC said.
There has been suppression of facts by Amar Singh in the case, the court added.
The court had on February 27, 2006, restrained the electronic and the print media from broadcasting and publishing the contents of the tapped conversations of anyone, including that of Singh.
