This week, Indian box office has seen slew of acclaimed releases, both in Hindi and English. Most of the releases opened to good reviews and good word of mouth. However, since all of them were small films the opening wasn’t huge, as expected. Shor In The City starring Tusshar Kapoor, produced by his sister Ekta Kapoor, already recovered half of its cost from non-theatrical revenue including the satellite rights and music rights. Including print and publicity, Shor In The City costs only 6 crores; and this should work in favor of the movie. However, the box office performance is important to declare it as a success.

Same goes for Vinay Pathak, Lara Dutta starrer Chalo Dilli. It has opened to good reviews and the collections are supposed to pick up with good word of mouth. Onir’s I Am also should benefit from the good word of mouth.
Hollywood films Thor and Source Code also opened their box office innings in India this week. Keep visiting this space for more updates.
