Here is a synopsis of the storyline – “When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.”

Where SOURCE CODE wins is its smart mix of ‘AVATAAR’ meets ‘INCEPTION’ story. Duncon Jones [Moon] does really well in his direction of a complex subject. The biggest problem that the film faces is in its pace. While the start and end is impactful, the first half tends to drag somewhat in between.
Jake Gyllenhaal is simply Gr8 in his portrayal of Captain Colter Stevens. He switches gears and gets into different roles with ease. Michelle Monaghan is first rate. Vera Farmiga is in full throtle and so is Jeffrey Wright.
On the whole, Source has a great subject and a superb climax but the slow pace leaves it only to an ‘average’ watch…nothing great! But it will your Every Second Count Indeed!!!
