Kayamath is the story of a simple girl named Prachi Shah. Prachi is the daughter of Inder and Premlata Shah. she is the innocent Protagonist that appeals to our emotions. The story starts with the announcement that Inder Shah is planning to marry Prachi off ot a businessman named Varun. Prachi unwillingly accepts the proposal so that her father isnt hurt. Neev Shergill is Prachi's best friend and at this time is contemplating his own feelings for Prachi. He comes to the Conclusion that he loves her but due to his humerous nature Prachi does not take him seriously when he tells her. On the day of the wedding between Prachi and Varun, Neev reveals tot he whole family that Varun is already married. whilst this is going on, Inder Shah tries to conceal a secret that he has kept to himself for 22 years. Inder Shah had an affair with a poor woman named Amrita. They have a child together named Ayesha and Inder promisies to leave Premlata for her but Inder deciedes not to do it and he is left witht he feeling of guilt. Amrita subcequently goes crazy and Inder Shah goes to see here every Tuesday. Ayesha and Prachi become unexpected friends after a meeting. Tensions grow between Ayesha and Prachi's brother, Alaap. This escalates an Ayesha wants to take revenge from the whole family. She does this and manages to have the house that the Shah family live in taken over. For her ultimate revenge she marries Neev and makes his mother a slave. Prachi is devestated. She goes to Turkey and there she meets Milind whom is Ayesha's true love.
