Tanu Weds Manu has come as a saviour of people from the back to back serious films like No One Killed Jessica, Patiala House, 7 Khoon Maaf. Filmmaker Ashok Pandit called the film as a full entertainment saying that, “Tanu Weds Manu is a Brilliant film. Its a sure shot hit.”
It should always be noted that film light hearted entertainers, be it Jab We Met, Band Baaja Baaraat and now Tanu Weds Manu, have always been successful in capturing the hearts of the audience. Director Aanand Rai film Tanu Weds Manu however draws a lot of comparison from Jab We Met, where a young and decent guy is falling for a loud, straight forward Punjabi girl, however unlike the later Tanu Weds Manu is not entirely shot in Punjab.
The film has also pleased the Dhak Dhak girl Madhuri Dixit who went to see the film with her entire family. The actress said that Tanu Weds Manu is a fine body of work. She said that the film was very Indian and she could connect to it as the romance was real and cultured. She also said that Kangana and Madhavan have done a great job and have successfully established the nature of the characters Tanu and Manu.
