Underdogs Otago aim for good show aganst Cape Cobras

Postby nahia on Sat Oct 10, 2009 8:27 am

HYDERABAD: The 'unknown' factor is bound to play a big role in the teams' strategies in the Champions League T20 tournament. The inter-club bash has pitted teams which have never played each other and hence most teams don't know what to expect or how to really plan their strategies.

"With teams not having a history of playing against each other, there is bound to be a missing link. One cannot really plan strategies," Otago Volts skipper Craig Cummins had remarked earlier this week. The Volts now have an inkling of what to expect when they meet Cape Cobras in their Group C match, here on Saturday.

The Cobras stunned RCB in the opening game at Bangalore on Thursday night. And it was one man who made all the difference - Jean-Paul Duminy. The left-handed struck an unbeaten 99 off 52 balls to single-handedly take the South African side to victory in a high-scoring game.

Teams

Cape Cobras: AG Puttick (captain), D Brand, RCC Canning, H Davids, JP Duminy, SA Engelbrecht, HH Gibbs, CW Henderson, RK Kleinveldt, CK Langeveldt, RE Levi, JL Ontong, VD Philander, FC Plaatjies, M Zondeki

Otago: CD Cumming (captain), NB Beard, NT Broom, IG Butler, DC de Boorder, MJ Harvie, BB McCullum†, NL McCullum, JM McMillan, WC McSkimming, AD Mascarenhas, AJ Redmond, HD Rutherford, GR Todd, N Wagner
