When the Ishqiya people came to town, a huge crowd gathered at the mall where they were supposed make an appearance.

And inside the multiplex in the mall, there was a huger crowd of journos waiting to have a chat with the stars. They did not have to wait for long, coz unlike starry stars, this bunch came almost on time, meaning we didn’t have to cool our heels chomping popcorn for long.

Abhishek Choubey and Vishal Bhardwaj came in first. Vishal, of course, is a known face by now, but the lanky, laconic Abhishek is not. So everybody pretty much ignored the poor chap. He must be thinking, ‘wait till I become a star director’, but all this was not visible on his face as he settled down on the sofa with a bottle of water.

Arshad Warsi and Vidya Balan made an entry shortly, and that created a buzz. Vidya was dressed as her character in the film – in a saree worn ulta-palla style, complete with a nosepin. And the minute everyone saw her, the questions came a dime a dozen. And all questions were directed at Vidya. Beech mein, Vishal interrupted a couple of times, with “Yeh sawal toh shayad aapko jo director hai, Abhishek, unse poochna chahiye,” but no one paid any heed. They all wanted to hear it only from Vidya.

And at places where Vidya floundered for an answer, Warsi chipped in with his ready wit.

At the umpteenth question to Vidya over whether she will do a bikini scene, when Vidya searched for an answer, Arshad said, “Woh bikini (read biki nahi)” and everyone laughed. There were many such questions, but the prize goes to this one, “Arshad, woh jo gai wala dialogue hai, jo famous hai iss film mein, woh bol ke dikhaye na.” Arshad thought for a long moment, looked straight at the person who asked the question and said, “Yeh toh achhi baat hai ke you think of me so much that you dream about dialogues said by me. But I must say, there is no such dialogue in this film.” All this while, Abhishek kept drinking water from the bottle he’d never let go of, and laughing. Finally as the stars were about to leave, there was one question put to Arshad: Aap Babban ke jaise bol ke dikhaye... We left Arshad trying his best to oblige this one...
