All the family celebrating the New Year. Baa happily smiles while watching from the steps. Tulsi watches as well while shedding tears. Baa remembers olden times, *flashback shown.* Tulsi can;t stop crying and she takes off without anyone noticing. Tulsi goes to a room and falls on the bed. She begins sobbing. Downstairs, dancing continues and baa sees her husbands angel on the stairs. She smiles in shock and he suddenly poofs away. She thinks to herself I know, I know you must be in your room, I m coming, Im coming. Baa heads up the steps. Tulsi looks down from upstairs.
She wipes her tears and walks down. She wonders where baa went. Baa is sitting in her husbands room. Tulsi walks wipes her tears, and asks baa why she is sitting alone upstairs while the rest of the family is dancing downstairs. She continues come on baa. She grabs baas hand, but baa stops her. She says the time to leave has come Tulsi. I have gotten my signal. Tulsi immediately falls to the ground on baas lap and says sign? Why are you speaking such things lately baa? You are Tulsi parchiye, does a parchiya ever leave support hanging? Baa says when the time comes bheta, your athma leaves you behind.
Tulsi is constantly crying while lying on baa lap. Baa continues try to tie the bond of relationships on me bheta, relationships are made through sharirath, not athma. Arre pagli, you're in my athma. Whether I stay here or go, what difference does it make. Tulsi pleads for baa to stop saying such things. I was scared this morning baa, that;s why I said all that. But after so many years of work baa, this family is finally fine. It seems though all the relationships are now built of love baa. You still have many happy moments to see. Don;t you say to my baa, that you and me Tulsi are one mahla;s choor and the rest of the family is the beads of the mahla. And so if one bead leaves, won;t all the beads be ruined. Baa says no no, the beads won;t be left hanging. New generations have come, old generations must go. Tulsi says don;t say such things. You cannot grow old; I;ve known you since my mother left me, since my father married me. You;ve made me a bheti, I;ve become a mother and a saas. Who will take care of my grand grandchildren baa? I don;t have the courage to baa.; Baa says ;you will. You will Tulsi. Just like I did. I;ve become a wife, then a mother, then a dadi, then badi dadi. I;ve seen four generations bheti but Tulsi, I;m tired now, you must take the responsibility now.; Tulsi weeps ;baa I cannot do this. What are you scared of baa? After much struggle and hesitation, she signs the will while baa whispers ;he is calling me Tulsi, your bapu ji is calling me.; After signing the papers, Tulsi falls on baa;s laps and cries. Baa consoles her and Tulsi continues crying and heavily breathing. Baa says ;go bheta, leave, go.; Tulsi holds on to baa and doesn;t intend to leave.; Baa screams ;go bheta, go!; Tulsi tugs on to ba, takes her ashiwadh, and leaves the room. Before leaving, she stops, looks back and cries. She holds onto the curtains as she can barley support herself. The curtains close.
Baa is on her bed, remember her marriage and the times her and her husband spent together, *flashbacks shown.* She gets up and goes to the record player. She plays the record and it is a song of bapu ji singing ;dheera dheera, mera bulbul.; Baa sees her husband sitting on the rocking chair, actually singing. He fades away after a couple of seconds and she sits on the rocking chair. Tulsi is praying, while baa continues listening. Downstairs, all hear the record and are shocked. Tulsi puts her hands around the diya to keep it going, while crying. As baa continues listening her eyes close and she stops breathing. The diya blows out and Tulsi screams ;BAAA!; All come from downstairs to see baa lying on the chair with her eyes closed. The family go up to her and Gunga and Nandini call out for her to open her eyes. She doesn;t open her eyes and Gunga screams ;BAAAA!; All the Virani;s are left shocked and seem as though they want to cry. Tulsi relights the diya and says prayers while doing so. She puts her hands together and prays while crying. Flashes of baa and the family are shown. Everyone is terrified and is crying.
Preview: Gunga asks Tulsi to tell her what the matter is. Tulsi refuses to do so. Gunga insists to know and she grabs Tulsi;s hand and puts it on her head.
