There's no doubt about it, very does an absolutely spectacular place. As far as vacation spots... I doubt there's any place better. Sure, my memories of Hawaii from my honeymoon are absolutely fantastic. However, the prices have just gotten out of reach, at least for me. Looking for a new tropical getaway where I could enjoy some windsurfing and kite surfing and where my wife could enjoy some beautiful beaches and relaxation and where we could both experience fabulous food and drinks, Gregory go absolutely fit the bill.
As alluded to above, water sports are my passion. I windsurf for years before transitioning to kite surfing. I didn't really expect to return to windsurfing, but part of eco-managed to change my mind on that. I met some extremely friendly windsurfers who are the more than happy to lend me their gear so I could get a taste of it again. I had forgotten why I fell in love with it so many years ago. Thankfully, (maybe thankfully... I'm not necessarily sure what my wife and while it think about this...), I have fully fall in love with it once again.
When we first arrived my goal was to go to Rincon, a well-known windsurfing beach. It has a wonderful reputation and for very good reason. The waves were a good size, consistent and so was the wind. The beach and the people were wonderful to. However, it wasn't quite the pristine, secluded beach environment I had envisioned. Fortunately, I was told that there is a new spot to check out called Aguadilla.
Aguadilla and Isabella are a set of absolutely pristine, almost completely deserted beaches that are fantastic for windsurfing and kite surfing. Although I have to say it's not ideal for beginners. The waves were pretty significant, which made it wonderful for those of us who are out there. In addition, my wife had a blast watching from the beautiful beach. Granted, she was mostly watching me get abused by the waves, but she could see I had a giant grin on my face. And in the meantime she was able to watch a handful of truly impressive windsurfers tearing it up out there.
The biggest disappointment of our trip to Paris go was that it was over far too fast. The good part is that we absolutely no where we will be heading for our next tropical vacation and we are more motivated than ever to make it happen sooner than it might otherwise have happened. If you're looking for a beautiful getaway where you can either relax or fully charge out on the water (or even do both), then I can't recommend the beaches of Puerto Rico highly enough. Hope to see you there!
When not planning my next tropical vacation (trying to figure out what kind of general merchandise Puerto Rico might offer that would allow me to make regular 'business trips' there), I enjoy spending time cycling with my wife. Recently we got a new car bike rack that has inspired us to take our bikes to new locations and discover some great rides. Even though the weather is going to be getting cooler soon, we will be taking every possible opportunity to get out there and hit the roads and the trails with our new bikes.
