Yuvan Yuvathi created a buzz in Kollywood!

Postby huma on Mon Jul 19, 2010 11:52 am

The newspaper advertisements of Yuvan Yuvathi have created a buzz in Kollywood. And the director of the film, GNR Kumaravel, is quite happy that his promotional technique has worked well.

“Usually, directors use stills from the film to place an ad. But I wanted to hide the look of my lead actors and therefore, placed ads in which their heads were covered. And just as I hoped, this has kindled the interest of everyone,” he says.

Yuvan Yuvathi is Kumaravel’s next venture after his debut flick, Ninaithale Inikkum. “Actually, I was supposed to do a film with Madhavan, but he got busy with his Hindi projects. So, I decided to do a quickie before I got busy with Maddy’s project. That’s how Yuvan Yuvathi happened,” he reveals.

Talking about his current venture, he says, “The film, which has Bharath and Reema Kallingal in the lead, is a love story that takes place in a corporate setting. The script has been written by S Ramakrishnan and has equal doses of love and humour, an element that I couldn’t incorporate in Ninaithale Inikkum. Though Reema is a popular star in Mollywood, Yuvan Yuvathi will mark her Kollywood debut. The film also has Santhanam in an important role. Vijay Antony has scored the music for this film as well.”

The film, which will hit screens during Christmas, has already gone on the floors. It will be shot in Chennai and some exotic locations abroad.
